Above all, I am a writer–if you don’t count being a mom, daughter, sister, cousin, friend and free spirit first. I started this personal blog to capture what was going on in my beady little brain (and my heart) during a three-month to four-month trip in 2011 and 2012 that turned into almost six months visiting clients, friends and family in Florida, Texas and Arizona. During that trip, I visited 15 states, traveled 14,000 miles and experienced temperatures that ranged more than 100 degrees.
Now traveling has become part of who I am and part of what I do. Without a house, a husband, children at home or pets (my last cat died in my arms in 2010), I almost can’t keep myself from doing it. Just about as compelling as not being able to keep myself from writing.
I’ll write about business in the blog at fosterwriting.com, and I’ll share some stream-of-consciousness thoughts here that will give you deeper insight into what I’m seeing, who I’m meeting, and how I’m handling challenges, such as where to put my dirty clothes in a super-packed new old Jeep I bought for that first trip.
I’m not promising any earth-shattering revelations, but I’ll do my best to give you interesting things to think about the world and the people in it. You also will pick up a few tips for when you next leave your comfort zone and embark on your next heart-thing odyssey into the world.
Leave comments and ask questions. I love the attention. That’s how writers are. 🙂
